PDX STYLE OFF! We asked our fave 5 Portland designers to bring their own unique style to our 2017 Color Of The Year – Almost Ripe. These tastemakers will show you how to incorporate this bright backdrop into your own home.

Colorhouse 2017 Color of the Year: Almost Ripe, room designed by Polka Dot Interiors

Next up: Marta Burlinska from Polka Dot Interiors. Polka Dot Interiors offers professional interior styling and lifestyle staging services in Portland, Oregon. Marta’s modern staging designs transform spaces so buyers fall in love with properties and the lifestyle they represent.

“When a home is beautifully staged, it allows a stranger to walk in and see themselves and their family happily inhabiting the space. They actually think ‘I could live here!’ When this happens, I know my design is effective.”

Originally from Poland, Marta brings a timeless European design sense coupled with what’s new and fresh in interiors. For our PDX Style Off, Marta set up the reverse of what is currently trending in interior design. Instead of white walls with pops of color in furniture and accents, Marta accented the brightness of our wall color with all white decor- from a furry slip covered chair to a simple white canvas.

Married to one of the founders of Revolution Design House, Marta could not resist including one of their Boxcar planters painted in a custom Colorhouse hue, RDH Coral, in her set. This complex color – a blend of pink and orange- proved to be the perfect complement to the 50/50 green/yellow mix that makes up Almost Ripe.
