We heart aqua. WATER .01, from our Earth’s Color Collection, is a cool and cute hue that plays nicely with brights. MAKE THIS: Dots+Dollops Wall using AIR .05 for a playful pattern in a playroom or kid’s bedroom.
Here’s what you will need for this simple project- you can get it done in an afternoon!
WATER .01 Eggshell (Determine how much paint you need for this basecoat by using our paint calculator)
1 quart AIR .05 Eggshell
1″ Artist brush
Paint Roller
Level
Pencil

Starting from the floor or the top of your trim, move toward the ceiling and make a little dot every 12″ with your pencil.

Moving out from each of the dots, make another little pencil dot every 12″ horizontally across the wall. Once you cover the wall, you can do a dot in the middle of your grid pattern for an alternating polka dot effect. Put a pencil dot 6″ down and 6″ over from your existing dots to fill out the space.

Once your pencil dot pattern is complete, dip your artist brush in AIR .05 and get to painting! We found that a quick circular motion creates the most organic dollop shape. Don’t try to make every circle perfect- let each one have their own unique shape for a more artistic look.

Another way to do this is with a sponge—cut a round shape (or square or diamond or an = sign or whatever), attach a loop of tape or glue it to a chunk of wood for a handle. Dip in paint, scrape off excess, and press on the wall. It is a different look, but also simple.
