MAKE THIS: Distressed Wainscoting - painting DIY project by Colorhouse

Give the suggestion of sunny skies by using ASPIRE .05 on select surfaces like trim and wainscoting. Add a worn-in feel to your wainscoting by creating a color wash with a complementary color. In this MAKE THIS, we chose DREAM .06 for our color wash, a rich peacock blue that pairs perfectly with the Aja wallpaper from Justina Blakeney from Hygge and West.

For this project you will need:
1 Colorspot DREAM .06
A few rags
Paint brush
2 buckets
1 stir stick

Begin by creating a color wash: one part DREAM .06 paint and one part water. Thoroughly mix together in a bucket. Dip your paintbrush in the wash and cover a small area on the wainscoting, roughly 2’x 2′. Take a wet rag and wipe off the wash, leaving a small amount of DREAM .06 in the recessed areas.

Paint. Wipe. Repeat.

Don’t forget the chair rail and trim! Use the same technique on these horizontal surfaces.
