Dwell on Design LA was nothing short of amazing this year! The people, the vendors, the products, the presentations, and ooohhhh…the COLOR!! It was a feast for the senses and a visually stimulating source of inspiration. Needless to say, the Color Nerds at Colorhouse were soaking it up like the California sun! Here are a few of our favorite #colorspots.

The Airbnb home was drenched in color, in just the right amounts. Vibrant pops of yellow and orange mixed with whites, greys and warm wood tones made this mid-century modern house really feel like home. We can’t wait to book our next trip with Airbnb. It’s our favorite way to stay when we travel for Colorhouse.

Interior designer and artist, Justina Blakeney, wowed us with her styling and colorful creation of the “Living Yellow” booth for YP, as in Yellow Pages. Yea, who knew YP was so cool?! The effect of layer on layer on layer of various shades of yellow was simply stunning.

Pretty sure if you look up mid-century modern in the dictionary, MIDCENTURY LA would be pictured there. These amazing folks were our neighbors at the show, and we fell in love with them and their products. They are collectors and retailers of gorgeous mid-century modern furniture, lighting and objects. These Bavarian-German bone china vases are vintage classics from the 1960s.

Feltware hit the colorful bullseye with their display of natural wool felt products that are both tactile and playful. They use 100% Merino wool felt along with toxic-free dyes, and partner with crafts people throughout the US for their designs.

Sunbrella’s vibrant spools caught our eye with their 3D display packed with the punch of cobalt blue. We saw a lot of this intense hue at the show in the form of fashion, which is usually a tale-tell sign of hot colors soon to come in home décor. Watch for this one.

Pink is trending, and totally unexpected as a backdrop for an outdoor seating company. These amazing heated chairs by Galanter & Jones were a welcome stop after many hours on our feet!

LA artist Norm Maxwell brought imagination and color together with a live mural creation using Dunn-Edwards paint. It was pretty rad to watch the mural come to life as he and his team painted throughout the show.

Of course, if we’re going to talk about color, Colorhouse has got to BRING IT! Our collaboration with decorist and APT2B was ALIVE with color! We had so much fun creating the ombre wall in our #colorcrush hues of PETAL .04, PETAL .03, SPROUT .06, and BISQUE .02. The design team at decorist did a fantastic job styling our booth and we LOVE THAT APT2B SOFA!!! Check out our Instagram for the awesome photos for our #colorcrushcontest. Congrats to the winner @christybloves!

Dwell on Design LA definitely got our creative juices are flowing! Stay tuned and see how we translate that inspiration in the Colorhouse Creative Studio.
