Collections are cool.  It seems like no matter what it is, if you have more than 4 or 5 of something, and you place them all together, it’s visually pleasing. My grandmother was an avid antique collector, but when I was a kid, there was nothing that I hated more than being dragged along with my mom and grandmother to musty old antique shops.

When I was 25 and living in New York, there’s nothing that I loved more than going to outdoor flea markets on weekends.  I would look for the finest, or oddest, or most colorful portrait plate that I could find. I guess that’s when I technically became a collector, it all started with portrait plates.
